Foreign media explore the tourism potential in West Sulawesi
Mamuju (ANTARA) - A number of foreign media journalists from the Philippines and Australia were invited by the Provincial Government of West Sulawesi to explore and explore various tourism potentials in Mamuju and other regions in the local province.
"We deliberately invited them to explore the potential of tourism in West Sulawesi. They came to Mamuju at the peak of the Sandeq Race, which was on Friday (16/8), "Head of the West Sulawesi Province Tourism Office, Farid Wajdi, told ANTARA in Mamuju on Wednesday.
The 2019 Sandeq Race Festival, a Mandar traditional boat race, follows the route along the coast of West Sulawesi from the Bahari Beach in Polewali Mandar to Manakarra Beach in Mamuju and runs from 11 to 17 August 2019.
In addition to the Sandeq Race, the foreign journalists continued Farid Wajdi, who also carried out coverage on Karampuang Mamuju Island.
The journalists from the Philippines and Australia, he added, had a chance to tour Karampuang Island to see the various tourism potentials on the island which is directly facing the Mamuju City.
Farid admitted that the foreign journalists were very impressed with the tourism potential of the Province of West Sulawesi.
He hoped that the foreign journalists could describe his visit to Mamuju Regency in his media to be published internationally.
"Hopefully they can convey a message to the international world that the Province of West Sulawesi has an attraction to visit. We hope that through the portrayal of foreign journalists, the number of tourist visits to West Sulawesi will increase, "explained Farid Wajdi.
Farid Wajdi hopes that the visit will have a positive impact on the tourism sector in West Sulawesi.
The Tourism Office continued, will continue to strive to promote the tourism potential of West Sulawesi so that the area becomes one of the leading tourist destinations in Indonesia.
