West Sulawesi arranges tourism development program 2019
Mamuju (Antaranews Sulsel) - The Tourism Office of West Sulawesi Province is currently developing a tourism development program in the area in 2019.
"We are still developing a program for tourism development in West Sulawesi in 2019," said the head of the West Sulawesi Tourism Office, Farid Wajdi, in Mamuju, Friday.
He stated, the Provincial Government of West Sulawesi in this case the Office of Tourism will seek to increase the level of tourist visits to the area, including improving infrastructure.
The tourism sector in West Sulawesi, continued Farid Wajdi, is expected to contribute significantly to development in the area.
"The preparation of the 2019 tourism development program will certainly be directed at increasing the number of visits to West Sulawesi through the improvement of a number of infrastructure towards the tourist area," he said.
"We hope, through the development of tourism, it can increase contributions to regional development. So, we are committed to continue to reform the tourism sector so that it can contribute significantly to the West Sulawesi PAD, "explained Farid Wajdi.
He explained, various tourism development programs in West Sulawesi, including Sandeq Race, Fetival Karampung and various arts and cultural activities in the area.
"West Sulawesi is rich in tourism potential, both the potential for marine tourism such as the Sandeq Race and Karampung Festival, which we hold every year. Of course, the implementation of the Sandeq Race next year (2019) will be further improved, including in terms of the number of participants that we hope will be attended by more from outside West Sulawesi and abroad.
Likewise, the new Karampung Festival this year will be held, and in 2019 it will be further refined by collaborative regional arts and culture, "explained Farid Wajdi.
He added that the commitment to develop tourism in West Sulawesi needs to be supported by the community, especially the art and culture lovers community to be more creative.
"We also hope that support from the private sector can contribute to our commitment to the development of the tourism sector. Of course, if this is achieved it will have a positive impact on development in various sectors in West Sulawesi, "said Farid Wajdi.
